The Department of Chemistry is one of the esteemed department of the college. It was established in 1967. The Department offers a three years B.Sc. Hons. and a B.Sc prog. In addition, it offers core and elective courses in chemistry and allied areas for undergraduate B.Sc courses in the College. The Department of Chemistry has a learned and dedicated faculty complemented by industrious and motivated laboratory staff. The department has five well- equipped laboratories along with an instrumentation laboratory that houses modern instruments, such as U.V.-Visible Spectrophotometer, Flame Photometers, Potentiometers, pH meters and colorimeters etc. The department is keen in adapting new innovation techniques in learning and encourages students to take active part in research.
